The Social Media Manager is responsible for bringing the iconic Brooklyn Brewery brand to life in line with its marketing vision and strategy across all social channels, in a way that motivates and engages existing and new consumers. This role will work closely with the Creative Director to create, implement and improve a social media strategy, in order to grow Brooklyn’s presence and build community. They will do this by constantly analyzing the social media landscape and bringing new tools, best practices and creative suggestions to the table as they own and develop our organic social content and approach.

This person acts as a trustee for Brooklyn’s social brand. This includes setting global strategy, building a content plan, creating better content in class, and ultimately ensuring that Brooklyn content aligns with marketing and sales goals. Primary responsibilities include social strategy and campaign building, daily content creation and management, identification of social trends, and performance reporting. This position will play a major role in communicating our brand, products and values.

Responsibilities and expectations:

Content generation

Create content and implement social media strategy across Brooklyn Brewery social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), better customizing content for each channel:

  • Take photos and video content to share across channels
  • Managing social content calendar for all platforms i.e. creating, sourcing and scheduling exceptional content
  • Leading communications with global markets to ensure consistent content on the brand
  • Monitor social media trends, and suggest new tools, developments, and practices
  • Monitor trends in the liquor/soft drink industry and beyond, and assess how they translate into your Brooklyn social media plan

Analytics and Reports
Track and report on Brooklyn Brewery’s growth across all platforms and improve social strategy based on these lessons:

  • Deliver quarterly reports to global leadership and teams summarizing performance, insights and learning
  • Review and evaluate publication performance and audience response to inform future campaigns
  • Tag Brooklyn Brewery’s social performance against leading competitors and ensure the brand remains competitive in the industry

Use Brooklyn Brewery’s social channels to build comprehensive organic campaigns that support brand priorities:

  • In coordination with the Creative Director, create and implement social media launch plans for product releases, events, campaigns and other brand initiatives
  • Partner with our paid media and PR partners to align paid and membership social methods and create high-performance content for each
  • Report on campaign engagement and effectiveness

community management
Regularly monitor Brooklyn Brewery’s social media channels:

  • Use monitoring tools like Later / Sprout / HootSuite to respond to comments and interact with our community
  • Reply/forward any inquiries that come across social media platforms in Brooklyn in a timely manner to the appropriate people internally
  • Boost community engagement in Brooklyn’s social handles
  • Building a network of social media influencers and managing outreach

qualifications

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in social media, preferably in a consumer brand
  • Thorough understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok
  • Consistently interact with social media and use a proactive understanding of emerging digital trends
  • Video and photo content creation skills, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft eloquent comments as well as thoughtful responses in a consistent TOV
  • Familiarity with Brooklyn culture, especially music, food, and art
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
