This ebook provides step-by-step instructions for beginning and intermediate level WordPress users who want to use the Subscribe2 plugin for this purpose.
Subscribe2 can gather emails for you and manage your mailing list. It can be used as a manual autoresponder for sending one-time emails, but it cannot send scheduled newsletters. It can send text or an abbreviated form of html emails. The full html version is available for around $40.
Paid email opt-in services require double opt-in. Aweber and Constant Contact, for example. But these email services cost about $19 a month, a little pricey if you don’t have a large list. Aweber has a much higher learning curve than Subscribe 2. You may not be ready to tackle it.
Subscribe2 is much simpler and definitely cheaper. And later, when you are ready to move to a paid email service, you can export your list as a .csv file into services like MailChimp or MadMimi. Some paid email services do not allow you to import a list, so be sure to ask that question before you sign up.
