This morning I was chastising myself because I haven’t blogged since May 27th. I don’t know why I do that. It’s in my Google and Outlook calendars. I write handwritten notes. My iPod Touch reminds me. Yikes!
But anyhow, I decided today was the day, I WILL blog, and then began looking at my list of topics. (Yes, I even have topics with dates listed in my calendars.) Somehow, I noticed I was using Twitter Tools plugin by Alex King from Denver, Colorado. And, I wondered why I’d never blogged about this great plugin that I had been using for quite some time???
This plugin creates an integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account. It allows you to pull your tweets into your blog (as posts and digests) and create new tweets on blog posts and from within WordPress.
The image displays how the plugin looks in my sidebar (and my latest certifications from VA Classroom). My most recent tweets are showing, not that I tweet very often. At the bottom the sidebar display is a text box where I can tweet right inside my WordPress blog. The text box and submit button look a little funny, but that’s probably because I haven’t gone into my Thesis editor and corrected it.
The settings options are extensive, so I’m saving that for next Friday’s blog post. I’ll talk then about using the bit.ly feature, hashtags, configuring the sidebar widget, and much more.
This little plugin just works. It installed with no problems and does its job so well I didn’t even notice it!
Alex has a plethora of WordPress plugins that he has developed, many I don’t currently use but will very soon. And come back, because I will be blogging about his very useful work.
