Twitter Tools Settings – Part 3 of 3

by Deborah on July 16, 2010

This is part 3 of 3 about how to use the options section of Twitter Tools WordPress plugin on your website. Actually, today we’ll finish up the options section but there’s more to come on the settings page. Once all the blogs are done about the Settings page, I will create an ebook from the blog posts for those of you who want the information in one place. Last week’s post, Twitter Tools Settings -Part Two, covered the settings 5 – 9 in the image below. To access all the posts, click here: “Twitter Tools” or visit the nav bar and click “Twitter Tools” there.

10. Tweets to show in sidebar

The default is 3. How long do you want your widget to be? Add as many tweets as will display attractively on your website.

11. Create tweets from your sidebar?

This creates a little window under your incoming tweets where you can post outgoing tweets. It displays in a sidebar on the front end of your website. The default is yes.

12.  JSLibrary to use

The choices are jQuery or Prototype. I stayed with jQuery, the default. “Prototype” sounds like a test version. If anyone knows, please post a comment.

13. Give Twitter Tools credit?

The default is yes, and why not? By letting others know which plugin you’re using, you help them and the plugin developer.

That’s all for this week. Next week I’ll talk about the Experimental, WordPress HelpCenter, and Update Tweets/Reset Checking and Digests sections of the settings page. The week after that, I will finish up with Bit.ly, Exclude Categories, #hashtags, and ReadMe.
