I found a really cute (sorry guys) tag cloud for my sidebar. And since it’s Flash, it moves! The more times you use the tag, the larger the word gets in the cloud. Your categories can also be included.
WP-Cumulus allows you to display your site’s tags, categories or both using a Flash movie that rotates them in 3D. It works just like a regular tags cloud, but is more visually exciting. Clicking the tags can be a little hard (depending on your speed setting) but does take you to the appropriate page
.
This is the url of the plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-cumulus/ and all the support is done on the WordPress website: http://wordpress.org/support/
This is what the backend looks like:
While I was writing this post, the plugin suddenly looked like the picture to the right. The fix was easy, all I had to do was click the link to download Flash Player 9. Except it downloaded Flash Player 10, go figure.
I’m not sure, but I’m guessing that when there is an update to the Flash player, the plugin developer reworks the code so it will play with the updated player.
Now you’re probably wondering why the background to my tag cloud is white instead of that pretty blue like the rest of my site. I’m wondering that also.
I’m off to figure that out, and when I get the answer I’ll write a post and tell you.
Enjoy the clouds!
